Magazine Cover

3-Person Group Project to come up with 3 cover issues for a Youth/Gen-Z Fictional Magazine. Shown is my own individual magazine cover design.

The idea is to create a fictional magazine as part of Graphics Design 2 Class. Each member is instructed to make one cover. I made this cover to commemorate the band Ben & Ben because they are rising stars.

I added elements like musical instruments as part of this edition's focus on musical bands and the cereals, marshmallows, and sprinkles to make it match the aesthetic of the magazine,which represents food for thought for the youth. Just as the marshmallows and sprinkles make the cereals more delicious, these details make the cover more attractive.

I placed the photo of the artist on the left to make it look attractive and eye-catching.

I edited the cereals and milk below the bowl and placed the artist on the bowl. I also added sprinkles and marshmallows because they make the cover colorful and creative.

This fictional edition is about Filipino Artists and Achievers.

Kinematic Music Video

I wanted to make a Kinematic Video as creative as possible while also expressing my faith and my interest in doing something that would be associated with Christian Ministry. I used a Christian Song for this video. This is my first successful Christian Music Video and one of my best projects.

I used Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator to make a Kinematic Music Video featuring Christian Music, using random images and texts within the video.

I added images that are appropriate for the song's lyrics and its themes, such as a picture of Jesus with children near the end of the video.

1. Rizal Monument Illustration - Original idea for a redesigned version of the Rizal Monument, which features the cover of Noli Me Tangere and a variation of the Katipunan flag

2. Rizal Stamp - Original concept for Jose Rizal Illustration for Philippine Stamp. Created a stamp illustration with Rizal in the foreground and an old Hispanic house at the background.

3. Original design concept for Rizal Book Cover Illustration inspired by a famous story by Dr Jose Rizal. Created my own rendition of Rizal's short story on the Turtle and the Monkey.

NSTP Poster for Iskaparate by Riz Sta. Ana

NSTP Posters

Promote Iskaparate.com and its online malls in the website; an NSTP project in coordination with Iskaparate (NGO helping micro-entrepreneurs)

For the first poster I made, I added a hand holding a gift emerging from a computer screen to show that it is an online store.

For the second poster, I added a collage of the sellers, matching the theme of the headline of the poster "Make them smile."

For the third poster, I copied and pasted a certain product of the Bicol Store, changed the sizes of the copied photos, and arranged them to look like they were thrown out of Mayon Volcano

For the fourth poster, I added the headline "Sweet Tooth" over the photo of the product, because Turon with Langka is a very sweet-tasting dish.

COVID-19 Awareness Poster by Riz Sta. Ana

COVID-19 Poster

The poster was created during the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic (early 2020), before the COVID-19 vaccines came out in 2021.

I took inspiration from the IBM Use/Abuse Handbook. I copied the some word, made the copies smaller, and randomly placed them over the original before subracting the shapes.

I wanted to make a very creative take on an article about TikTok that would warn the audiences of the inappropriate use of the Social Media site.

The layout for Magazine Article on TikTok goes like this. The design of the article was meant to evoke the theme and subject of the article

I added things to the article like a pied piper with a Tiktok symbol and children following it, showing the effects of Tiktok on children, and a man seated on a director's chair, looking at a phone with a child holding a sign telling him to stop photo shooting her, which is more based around the issue of youngsters being told to do inappropriate things.

3D Isometric Room

I made the isometric room as detailed as possible by adding the obvious things like the blanket placed over the bed, a wooden cabinet, and a laptop on the table, as well as the smaller details especially on things like the textures.

Chocolate Bars Flavors Design Mockups

This is an original Concept for Chocolate Brand and Logo Design I came up with. I wanted to evoke some Filipino-style designs, specifically Filipino textiles. However, I ended up going for a simplistic design for the graphics on the box without any textile-like ornaments, probably because I did not have enough time.

Also, I wanted to distinguish the flavors. So, I color coded them and gave alternate versions of the logo.

Speaker with Jack

One of my early projects for 3D Modelling. I designed it to be as close as possible to the real Genius SP-P110 speakers.

I tried to create a texture almost close to the texture of the "vibration part" of the speaker, mostly the color. I also added the wires and the jack.

Game Boy Advance 3D Model

This is one of the first 3D Models I ever did. I wanted to be realistic, accurate, and detailed as much as I possibly could.

I added several details to the model, especially the major parts of the console like the cartridge slot and also on the smaller details like the speakers.

Toaster 3D Model

One of my first 3D Models. I wanted to make the toaster as detailed as possible. The toaster is based on old-school designs, most likely late 20th Century designs.

I added every feature to the toaster to make it detailed as possible, including the textures and some of the details like the number dials.

Videos and Animation

Chase to Earth

Non-verbal storyboard with unusual storyline. The object of the project is to show ability of storytelling without dialogue.

Although I never thought of it, it seems that the video is about the fishing and consumption of sharks.

I wanted the video to look weird, different, and yet, very interesting, so I came up with the idea of an alien squid being chased by an alien shark to Earth, where the shark is hunted down taken to a Chinese Restaurant.

Non-Verbal Video of Ad for Milk

I helped my groupmates create a very funny (but also gross) Non-Verbal Advertisement showing and warning viewers the risk of Lactose Intolerance.

I added fart sound effects to tell the viewers that he is having a bad stomach day in the bathroom.

Count to Five

Animation for an exercise video I came up with for my tita, who is a SPED Teacher in the US.

I made an animated workout video for kids. I wanted the characters and animation to be realistic as possible while being slightly cartoonish.

I also made the characters different, especially with the hair color and the clothes they wear.

The Little Seed

I created this animation based around the song that my Tita sent me, which is about the growth of a flowering plant

I drew hand-drawn frames and tried to make scenes that matched the lyrics of the song.

Eggs on The Trampoline - "Humpty & Kids"

I created original characters for a simple, but short animated video that was aimed to be funny and cartoony.

I used Humpty from the fairy tale as a character along with his kids. Just like Humpty, his kids break open when they fall hard as Humpty himself jumps on the trampoline.

Camera Tricks

I was told to create a video using practical camera tricks to make a superhero effect video using what I learned from class, from increasing the size of the video in front of the other to shifting its position.

I made a video using practical camera tricks and editing in a clip of myself and superimposed it on a clip of my neighbor's vehicle.

I used a green screen as a background so that I can edit myself into the video.

Hand-Drawn Scribble Effect

I made the video with scribble around the girl, mostly with some random animations.

I added these animations to add some effects to the dancing girl and these effects also add to the groovy music playing in the background.

I wanted to make it look groovy and neon as possible, like some of those videos where dribble was drawn around a person or person, with the made-up microphone and lines crossing over the silhoutte of the girl.
